Dear friend,

There is a grand settling in happening in a very light-filled yellow house this morning. Dishes are being put away. Kittycats are exploring. Kittycat A is busy making sure Kittycat B knows she is still the alpha-Kittycat, even in this strange new place.

As exciting as our house purchase has been, the actual move seems to have gone on forever. We just spent night #2 here. Boxes are, for sure, everywhere. Things have been especially tricky in the I-work-from-home department. We JUST got Internet. If you have emailed me or sent me an Etsy convo in the past two weeks and haven't gotten a response, I am so sincerely sorry! I WILL respond. It is just going to take a couple of days to sift through my inboxes.

Life here is so different already.

I want to show you pictures of the whole house! But, you know...I also want things to be a little more settled first. Somebody left me a wonderful comment about waiting a bit to paint...getting to know the house so it can speak to you a while. I love that concept so much. So, while we didn't exactly wait to paint (Glass of Milk, Ground Pepper, Mushroom, and Egg Yolk...all Martha Stewart for Home Depot. And yes, I know what you're thinking, and, why yes! I did pick them because they sound like a carbonara recipe!), we're going to try and apply that concept to the rest of the house. Let it evolve, come together molasses-slow, and change a lot too. This little house has seen a lot in its 82 years. I think it could have a lot to tell us, if we listen.

P.S. We have never been happier.

Love,

Rebekka

Wow these photos are beautiful and your home looks lovely. I know what you mean about the chaos of moving house, we moved recently too, we couldn't really wait to paint either as the house was in quite a state when we moved in. But it is great when you find somewhere that truly feels like home isn't it! Can't wait to see more pictures.

Wow. For only living there such a short amount of time, your house looks amazing! More decorated than mine does -- and we've been here 2 years! :)

I love the dining room color! (Is that the dining room?) Think of all the fantastic dinners and parties and crafty craft projects that are yet to happen in that room!
Settling in, and making a house a home is the best. (Nine years later, and we still are....)
Thank you for sharing!
