Dear friend,

The light is different here. I think maybe every city has its own distinct luminosity, influenced in no small part by the collective loveliness of its inhabitants. These were taken here, on a quick pick-up stop for sopressata and pickled peppers. We took that up to my friend Lee Anne's rooftop, along with salt-packed anchovies, a demi baguette, and a bottle of dry rose, for the most showstopping sunset supper picnic of my life.

I've had so much fun here so far. I haven't been to NYC in ten years. Ten! It's changed. Of course. Today we went to this, with HER, and she was just the sweetest ever, and the whole shebang was absolutely perfect. Perfect. More about that later.

I'm falling asleep right this very second with a full belly and a full heart.

Love,

Rebekka

So glad you are enjoying your time in the Big Apple, Rebekka. I have not been there in about 15 years but have many fond memories from the 20 years we lived 100 miles north of NYC. Blessings to you and yours :)

Brooklyn must be a very creative place. I'm seeing it everywhere on blogs, lately. Nikole must be a great gal, I've been following her for years.

Rebekka, hi! I have to tell you that I found your site last night, Pinteresting for a new desktop background (loving it, thank you!) and then couldn't pull myself away from your beautiful site. It is seriously stunning. STUNNING. Your pictures! Your layout! Your succinct and thoughtful words! Then I learned you're local, from Nashville like me! So anyway, all that to say that I'm a new reader, but a hooked one. hello!
